The dominating motif of my watercolours is my love of the
sea. Only delicate watercolours can portray the sea in many
forms, shoured in mist, lit by the morning sun, stormy and
threatening, in the clear autumn light. Many of my paintings
depict the open sea, its faroff misty skerries, its old fishing
harbours with their boat houses, and the old wooden boats
left on the shore. I want to paint as much as possible in
nature, because it is where I can best transfer the landscape
and the atmosphere in colours onto paper. At sea the bright
sun brings the colours out in the landscape"…
